With a new vision for this iconic downtown Vancouver hotel, Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront offers guest-driven amenities right where you want to be. The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of Cook 1. A member of our Culinary team, you are a Red Seal Certified Cook, whose organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with your eye for detail help to ensure all food items coming out of your kitchen are of the highest quality and prepared in a timely and efficient manner. You possess the gift of consistency and thrive within the organized chaos of a rapid-paced, high-volume, team-oriented kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food items according to recipes and quality standards, including special meals and/or substitute items.
  • Regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Preparing, maintaining and monitoring quality control for hot and cold food items including, but not limited to, meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, sea
  • Maintaining consistency through appropriate portions, arrangements, and garnishes.
  • Maintaining accurate food logs; promptly and proactively communicating food quality or shortage issues with Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef.
  • Helping to maintain constant cleanliness and proper sanitary condition of all food storage and kitchen areas, including the line and prep kitchens etc
  • Practicing correct food handling and food shortage procedures according to applicable local, provincial, and Company standards and regulations.
  • Visually inspecting all food items from the kitchen prior to service. Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Red Seal certification.
  • Food Safe certification required.
  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Fluent English language skills; both written and verbal.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds) without assistance.
  • Frequent bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time required.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional ability to use sound logic and good judgment at all times within a high-pressure work environment.
  • Must be self directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge in restaurant operations as well as previous Banquet kitchen experience.
  • Must be familiar with breakfast cookery.
  • Fully abreast with latest food trends.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a hotel environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Education: High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience in a similar capacity, or 2 years previous experience as a Cook 2, preferably in an upper-upscale hotel
  • Legal Work Status: Must already possess necessary documentation to work legally in Canada.

The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of Cook 3. Are you up to the challenge of a very busy full service kitchen preparing dishes for our guests and staff? Are you organized, a go getter, enjoy working with a great group and follow directions to a tee?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping and storing food.
  • Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Preparing and cooking food according to quality standards.
  • Monitoring food quality during food preparation.
  • Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
  • Setting up and breaking down work stations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent and culinary education
  • 1-2 years of experience in the culinary industry.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Food Safe certification required.

Credit Manager

Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has been a fixture of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood for several decades; however, 2015 marked a new chapter for the hotel, becoming the latest addition to the Pinnacle family of hotels. With a new vision for this iconic downtown Vancouver hotel, Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront offers guest-driven amenities right where you want to be. The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great leader to take on the role of Credit Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you are an incredibly well-organized and detail-oriented individual who is ultimately responsible for the hotel's credit collection/coordination activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation and invoicing for group, tour, and contract business.
  • Carrying out credit checks and approving/denying credit applications.
  • Monitoring aging of accounts to ensure timely payment.
  • Posting payments to accounts (cheques and wire transfers).
  • Following up on customer charge and chargeback inquiries.
  • Attending regular Vancouver Credit Managers Association meetings.
  • Assisting with accounts payable, payroll, and other accounting functions if needed.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of previous experience in an accounting role within a professional organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.

General Maintenance

Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has been a fixture of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood for several decades; however, 2015 marked a new chapter for the hotel, becoming the latest addition to the Pinnacle family of hotels. With a new vision for this iconic downtown Vancouver hotel, Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront offers guest-driven amenities right where you want to be. We currently have an amazing opportunity for a General Maintenance Engineer with an eye for perfection to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the General Maintenance Engineer focuses primarily on preventative maintenance of the hotel building; maintaining the general condition of the hotel with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding and attending to building repair requests.
  • Communicating with guests/customers when necessary to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Fixing minor plumbing and electrical problems.
  • Performing building repair such as drywall, plastering, painting and vinylene.
  • Maintaining daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area which includes inventories, requisition (receipt and storage), trash removal and clean up.
  • Reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; properly storing flammable materials.
  • Maintaining complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; using equipment only as intended.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional experience and training with power tools, plumbing, electrical and chlorine pool maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 22.5 kilograms (50 pounds) without assistance.
  • Capable of bending frequently, standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and skill for multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced work environment.

The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great leader to take on the role of Restaurant Manager. Reporting directly to the Outlets Manager, you oversee day-to-day operations of our P2b Restaurant and Lounge, as well as In-Room Dining; helping develop your Food & Beverage team to attain the highest service standards, taking immediate ownership of issues that arise and resolving them with aplomb, and handling guest requests without hesitation to ensure complete satisfaction with their dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating your team to regulate the flow of the dining room & speed of service.
  • Helping develop strategies, initiatives, programs, and practices that improve food & beverage revenues.
  • Playing a key role in the effective performance management of employees.
  • Creating an exciting atmosphere in our restaurant and lounge to encourage repeat business; analyzing trends and guest feedback.
  • Acting as a liaison with your guests and employees in matters that require immediate concern resolution.
  • Playing a role in key administrative affairs (i.e. payroll, monthly inventory, composition of purchase orders, etc.).
  • Ensuring that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed, and employees possess the correct knowledge and tools to work safely.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of previous Food & Beverage front-of-house experience; 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Previous experience managing within a Unionized hotel environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency always.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.
