Assistant Director of Engineering

Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has been a fixture of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood for several decades. Under the management and ownership of Pinnacle International, the hotel features 35,000 square-feet of event space and 442 guestrooms & harbour suites. We are currently in the hunt for an Assistant Director of Engineering. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the Assistant Director of Engineering is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in the planning, directing, coordinating and maintenance of all areas pertaining to the Engineering Department. The Assistant Director of Engineering is also responsible for Engineering Department in the absence of the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preventative maintenance program of all building equipment, guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Actively supervise and inspect ongoing work of hotel maintenance staff. Identify and coach staff on opportunities to improve skills and craftsmanship
  • Take active role in recruitment & selection of Engineering staff.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and other equipment throughout the hotel.
  • Assist in the execution of capital projects and regular property maintenance.
  • Enforce safety regulations, investigate accidents, assign work duties and assist staff, as required.
  • Oversee the hotel’s Health & Safety Committee.
  • Lead special projects, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years previous experience as an Assistant Director of Engineer, preferably within an upscale hotel environment.
  • Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, city steam heating, and all areas of engineering.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, fire, and health & safety codes.
  • Working knowledge of water treatment programs, blueprints and wiring schematics, power and hand tools, and other technical trade-related equipment.

Banquet Manager

Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has been a fixture of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood for several decades. Under the management and ownership of Pinnacle International, the hotel features 35,000 square-feet of event space and 442 guestrooms & harbour suites. The Banquet Manager plays a critical role in the effective management of our banquet operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Banquets, the Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing the setup, execution, and tear down of all in-house events. This individual also plays in instrumental role in ensuring all guests are offered the engaging service for which the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has become known.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote & reinforce the consistent delivery of hotel service standards among employees.
  • Review all banquet event orders to ensure proper set-ups are in place; inspect all rooms pre-event.
  • Coordinate with banquet staff set-ups, changes, and time schedules for all functions.
  • Monitor conditions of all facilities and events; make recommendations for corrections and improvements and execute last-minute guest requests.
  • Demonstrate and enforce established policies & procedures and comply with health & safety legislation.
  • Staff training and development; Annual performance reviews are completed; Ensure ongoing training, coaching and mentoring of the Banquets team.
  • Act as a liaison with guests and employees in matters that require immediate concern resolution.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must possess necessary documentation to work legally in Canada.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Hotel / Hospitality Management.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar capacity, ideally within an upscale convention hotel environment.

Events Manager

The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has been a fixture of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood for many years. In early 2015 the hotel was successfully rebranded to the Pinnacle Hotel Habourfront under the management and ownership of Pinnacle International. The hotel features 35,000 square feet of event space, 442 guestrooms and harbour suites, guest driven amenities, in addition to a location that is right where you want to be. We are looking for an Events Manager to join our team. Hotel Event planning experience is an asset, ability to fit with our amazing, energetic, self starter team is a must. The position will report directly to the Director of Events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and strengthen relationships with clients through activities that include, but are not limited to site inspections, menu tastings and pre-cons.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers; attend community/social and industry events.
  • Actively participate in regular sales and events meetings, departmental meetings, BEO meetings and any other opportunities to increase revenues.
  • Meet regularly with the Banquets team to review the status of events, including menus, floor plans, staffing needs, and special requests.
  • Ensure all definite functions are detailed accurately on Banquet Event Orders, signed by clients and promptly distributed to designated departments.

Executive Sous Chef

As member of the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront culinary management team, the Executive Sous Chef is responsible for the day-to-day management of culinary operations, as well as the effective leadership of all culinary and stewarding staff. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Executive Sous Chef is also responsible for the daily operation of the Banquet kitchen, seasonal menus, staff management, and production planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen in absence of the Executive Chef.

Housekeeping Night Cleaner

The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront Vancouver is in the hunt for our next great Housekeeping Night Cleaner. Reporting directly to the Housekeeping and Overnight management teams, the Housekeeping Night Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of hotel public areas, restrooms, restaurant outlet, elevators and all other assigned areas. The Night Cleaner will also be called upon to respond to guest requests, such as luggage assistance, as well as delivery of housekeeping items and sundries.

We are looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of part-time Night Auditor. Reporting directly to the Front Office Management team, the part-time Night Auditor is responsible for the nightly reconciliation of all hotel postings and successful transition of all systems, programs, and processes to the following day. The Night Auditor also ensures all relevant reports are printed and distributed appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing end-of-day activities, including posting of all charges to correct accounts.
  • Running night audit backup and rolling all systems to the following day.
  • Processing all payments, including all in-house, room, cash, cheque, debit, and credit charges.

Receiving Clerk

The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of Receiving Clerk within our Culinary team. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, documenting, and tracking all goods ordered for the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving all deliveries at the designated receiving area and ensuring all deliveries are received solely at the designated receiving area.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of all approved purchase orders; all purchase orders to clearly state the status of delivery.
  • Accurately recording all items received, copying records to Finance for payment and auditing purposes.
  • Completing a daily receiving report for F&B items and general items.
  • Completing appropriate Discrepancy Form(s) for goods received without accompanying invoice; goods returned without a credit notice.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderly condition of receiving area at all times.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy and minimal supervision, efficiency and attention to detail.

Reservations Sales Coordinator

As a valuable member of the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront Vancouver, the Reservations Sales Coordinator works closely with all hotel departments in an accurate and efficient manner, while delivering authentic and memorable experiences to our guests. Reporting directly to the Reservation & Revenue Manager and Regional Director of Revenue, the Reservations Sales Coordinator handles all hotel reservations-related services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer reservation enquiries in a prompt and professional manner, identify guest needs and proactively make recommendations.
  • Optimize average daily rates through effective upselling techniques.
  • Ensure details are correctly entered into reservation systems.
  • Update reservation traces, enter rooming lists, run daily reports, and set up billing details.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all aspects of the hotel, including, however not limited to, features and services provided, VIP groups, and room types
  • Immediately take ownership of all guest issues as they arise.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information and requests to the appropriate department.

You have a knack for cleaning guest rooms to the highest possible standards, reporting maintenance deficiencies to ensure perfection, handling guest requests without hesitation, and ensuring the complete confidentiality and security of our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms and making beds in accordance with established standards and procedures; replacing all linens as required.
  • Removing trash, dirty linen and room service items.
  • Dusting and polishing furniture.
  • Vacuuming carpets in guest rooms and hallway.
  • Inspecting the condition of all furniture for tears, rips, and stains; reporting any damage for immediate repair.
  • Recording all guest requests (special requests, daily special cleaning times, extra towels and/or linens, etc.) for future reference
  • Disturb or refused service requests.
  • Exhibiting a professional, respectful, and genuinely helpful demeanor in all interactions with guests and fellow employees.
  • Filling the carts with supplies and transporting them to their assigned areas. Performing other duties, as assigned.

  • Processing all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns in a professional manner.
  • Routing callers to requested guest or hotel personnel and accommodating all requests swiftly.
  • Following up with guests to ensure requests have been met to their complete satisfaction.
  • Providing callers with accurate information on hotel facilities and services.
  • Documenting all guest complaints and notifying designated department personnel for full resolution.
  • Taking orders for In-Room Dining requests and forwarding all orders to the In-Room Dining Department.

Qualifications & Experience:
