FRONT DESK AGENT (PART-TIME)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guests with a sincere, welcoming interaction at the Front Desk
  • Answer all guest calls (questions, reservations, concerns) in a professional and timely manner
  • Create a seamless experience for our guests during their stay or over the phone
  • Anticipate and delivering on our guests’ needs.
  • Able to speak with confidence about hotel amenities, rates and promotions.
  • Provide information about local offerings .
  • Take the initiative to resolve any guests’ concerns with tact and professionalism.
  • Document any guest requests or complaints and notify appropriate departments for follow up.
  • Accurately process all cash, debit and credit transactions.
  • Provide support to switchboard as needed..
  • Flexibility to cross train in other Front Office classifications to support team, e.g. night audit..
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Proficient working knowledge of computer software and Microsoft Suite. Opera and HotSOS experience is considered an asset.
  • Fluent English language skills; both written and verbal
  • Team player with proven ability to multi-task and build relationships.
  • Previous experience in a hotel is considered an asset
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a hotel environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must already possess necessary documentation to work legally in Canada.

Part Time Position

General Maintenance

We currently have an amazing opportunity for a General Maintenance Engineer with an eye for perfection to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the General Maintenance Engineer focuses primarily on preventative maintenance of the hotel building; maintaining the general condition of the hotel with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding and attending to building repair requests.
  • Communicating with guests/customers when necessary to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Fixing minor plumbing and electrical problems.
  • Performing building repair such as drywall, plastering, painting and vinylene.
  • Maintaining daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area which includes inventories, requisition (receipt and storage), trash removal and clean up.
  • Reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; properly storing flammable materials.
  • Maintaining complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; using equipment only as intended.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional experience and training with power tools, plumbing, electrical and chlorine pool maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 22.5 kilograms (50 pounds) without assistance.
  • Capable of bending frequently, standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and skill for multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a sense of urgency at all times.
  • Must maintain flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a hotel environment, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Previous relevant experience in hotel/high rise residential building (400 + rooms).

Full Time Position

Night Auditor (Part-Time)

We are looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of part-time Night Auditor. Reporting directly to the Front Office Management team, the part-time Night Auditor is responsible for the nightly reconciliation of all hotel postings and successful transition of all systems, programs, and processes to the following day. The Night Auditor also ensures all relevant reports are printed and distributed appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing end-of-day activities, including posting of all charges to correct accounts.
  • Running night audit backup and rolling all systems to the following day.
  • Processing all payments, including all in-house, room, cash, cheque, debit, and credit charges.
  • Processing adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges.
  • Balancing and dropping receipts according to Accounting specifications.
  • Handling all incoming telephone calls in absence of dedicated Switchboard Operator.
  • Performing all guest arrival and departure duties in an accordance with established Company standards and procedures.
  • Printing emergency lists and reports.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • One year of previous experience in a similar capacity within an upper-upscale hotel.
  • Must be available for Friday and Saturday night shifts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and demonstrate exceptional customer service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Outlook, Opera Property Management System, and Micros.
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe, WHMIS, and safety procedures.

Part Time Position

Outlet Server

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take guest’s food and beverage orders while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Fast and competent use of the Micros POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverage orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Embrace teamwork at all times and work collaboratively with restaurant and kitchen staff
  • Perform bussing and hostess tasks as necessary, including during breaks or times of low volume
  • Follow all health and safety rules for responsible alcohol service and safe food practices
  • Take ownership of guest issues as they arise and follow through to complete resolution
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of menu items and promotions
  • Able to effectively explain ingredients and preparation methods for all menu items
  • Ability to integrate new promotions seamlessly into the guest experience
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager
  • Processing all payments and adhere to all cash, credit, debit and voucher policies & procedures
  • Opening/closing side duties as assigned, e.g. preparing roll-ups, stocking supplies, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with other hotel departments as needed
  • Professional image, with well kept and correctly worn uniform and excellent personal hygiene
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Serving It Right Certification required
  • Food Safe Level 1 considered an asset
  • Knowledge of restaurant POS and payment systems (direct Micros experience is an asset)
  • Ability to work with accuracy, efficiency, attention to detail and a sense of urgency at all times
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Must be self directed and motivated with exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
