Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has been a fixture of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood for several decades; however, 2015 marked a new chapter for the hotel, becoming the latest addition to the Pinnacle family of hotels. With a new vision for this iconic downtown Vancouver hotel, Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront offers guest-driven amenities right where you want to be. The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of Cook 1. A member of our Culinary team, you are a Red Seal Certified Cook, whose organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with your eye for detail help to ensure all food items coming out of your kitchen are of the highest quality and prepared in a timely and efficient manner. You possess the gift of consistency and thrive within the organized chaos of a rapid-paced, high-volume, team-oriented kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food items according to recipes and quality standards, including special meals and/or substitute items.
  • Regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Preparing, maintaining and monitoring quality control for hot and cold food items including, but not limited to, meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, sea
  • Maintaining consistency through appropriate portions, arrangements, and garnishes.
  • Maintaining accurate food logs; promptly and proactively communicating food quality or shortage issues with Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef.
  • Helping to maintain constant cleanliness and proper sanitary condition of all food storage and kitchen areas, including the line and prep kitchens etc
  • Practicing correct food handling and food shortage procedures according to applicable local, provincial, and Company standards and regulations.
  • Visually inspecting all food items from the kitchen prior to service. Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Red Seal certification.
  • Food Safe certification required.
  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Fluent English language skills; both written and verbal.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds) without assistance.
  • Frequent bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time required.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional ability to use sound logic and good judgment at all times within a high-pressure work environment.
  • Must be self directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge in restaurant operations as well as previous Banquet kitchen experience.
  • Must be familiar with breakfast cookery.
  • Fully abreast with latest food trends.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a hotel environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Education: High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience in a similar capacity, or 2 years previous experience as a Cook 2, preferably in an upper-upscale hotel
  • Legal Work Status: Must already possess necessary documentation to work legally in Canada.

With a new vision for this iconic downtown Vancouver hotel, Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront offers guest-driven amenities right where you want to be. The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of Cook 2. A member of our Culinary team, you are an experienced cook whose organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with your eye for detail help to ensure all items coming out of our dedicated Restaurant and Banquet Kitchen are of the highest quality and prepared in an efficient manner. You possess the gift of consistency and thrive within a rapid-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping and storing food.
  • Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Preparing and cooking food according to quality standards.
  • Monitoring food quality during food preparation.
  • Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
  • Setting up and breaking down work stations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as a 3rd cook in a hotel or restaurant.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Food Safe certification required.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds) without assistance.
  • Frequent bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time required.
  • Good understanding of restaurant, room service and banquet procedures.

Are you up to the challenge of a very busy full service kitchen preparing dishes for our guests and staff? Are you organized, a go getter, enjoy working with a great group and follow directions to a tee?

  • Preparing and cooking food according to quality standards.

Credit Manager

Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has been a fixture of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood for several decades; however, 2015 marked a new chapter for the hotel, becoming the latest addition to the Pinnacle family of hotels. With a new vision for this iconic downtown Vancouver hotel, Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront offers guest-driven amenities right where you want to be. The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great leader to take on the role of Credit Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you are an incredibly well-organized and detail-oriented individual who is ultimately responsible for the hotel's credit collection/coordination activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation and invoicing for group, tour, and contract business.
  • Carrying out credit checks and approving/denying credit applications.
  • Monitoring aging of accounts to ensure timely payment.
  • Posting payments to accounts (cheques and wire transfers).
  • Following up on customer charge and chargeback inquiries.
  • Attending regular Vancouver Credit Managers Association meetings.
  • Assisting with accounts payable, payroll, and other accounting functions if needed.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of previous experience in an accounting role within a professional organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.
  • Keen decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Technologically savvy, possessing a strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office software with emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Previous experience using Opera and SAGE accounting software an asset.
