Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping and storing food.
  • Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Preparing and cooking food according to quality standards.
  • Monitoring food quality during food preparation.
  • Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
  • Setting up and breaking down work stations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as 3rd cook in an upscale hotel or restaurant.
  • Fluent English language skills; both written and verbal.
  • Food Safe certification required.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds) without assistance.
  • Frequent bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time required.
  • Good understanding of restaurants, room service and Banquet production

Key Responsibilities:

  • Addressing guests’ service needs in a professional, positive and timely manner
  • Ensuring banquet rooms are ready for service and correct set up as per Banquet Event Order
  • Assigning and ensuring work tasks are completed on time and that they meet appropriate quality standards
  • Communicating service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions.
  • Checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicating additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Collaborating with management to develop and carry-out ideas and procedures and set goals to continuously improve department performance
  • Monitoring the performance of others to ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Conducting meetings with Servers and review information pertinent to set-up and service and coordinate service
  • Assigning stations and side work to servers and communicating additions or changes to assignment as they arise
  • Preparing total charges for group functions for payment, adhering to all cashiering procedures
  • Preparing written documents (i.e. daily logs, business letters, memo, reports) including proofreading and editing to ensure accuracy and completeness

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School diploma; Hospitality Management Diploma is an asset
  • At least 2 years previous food service experience in hotel banquet department.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Serving It Right certification.
  • Food Safe Level 1 considered an asset.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weigh up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds) without assistance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make a quick judgment and decision to resolve issues with guests during the events or staffing matters in the absence of management
  • Comfortable to work only 3 shifts per week to start

  • Regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Pulling food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
  • Ensuring proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.
  • Maintaining food logs.
  • Monitoring the quality and quantity of food that is prepared.
  • Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as 2nd cook in an upscale hotel or restaurant.
  • Fluent English language skills; both written and verbal.
  • Food Safe certification required.

Night Manager (4 Ten Hour Shifts Per Week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating all aspects of the Front Office while serving as Manager on Duty to ensure a smooth operation and the highest possible level of service
  • Prepare for and execute the end of day process for the Front Office and F&B outlets of the hotel, ensuring all systems are restored daily
  • Ensuring safety and security of all guests and staff on a daily basis
  • Providing a high level of customer service and maintaining a high profile in the day to day front office operations
  • Handling any guest complaints or contentious issues that cannot be settled directly by team members and provides a fast and effective solution

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years Front Office experience
  • Minimum of 1 year management experience in a hospitality environment
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office applications
  • Proficiency in Opera PMS system strongly preferred
  • Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field considered an asset
